Currently in Austin — September 7, 2023: Relentless heat continues
Plus, announcing Currently Sponsorships — a new way to reach our local audience.
The weather, currently.
Relentless heat continues through the weekend
Even the squirrels in my neighborhood have had enough of this relentless heat. They’ve stripped the green pecans from the trees, taken one bite from each, and hurled them (with disdain? ennui?) onto cars and sidewalks.
I share their frustration, as Thursday will again be sunny and hot, with a high near 106 and heat index values up to 111. A southwest wind (5 to 10 mph) turns east southeast in the afternoon. ERCOT has issued a weather watch through Friday due to the high temps and demand on the power grid. Drink more water than you think you should, and put some out for the critters.
