The weather, currently.
Welcome to Austin’s meteorological fall!
Welcome to Austin’s meteorological fall! Can we finally bid farewell to the hottest summer in recorded history? Calendar-wise, yes. Heat-wise, not quite, as Wednesday’s high is projected to be 101 with heat index values as high as 108. We’ll see a mostly clear day with a light south wind (5 to 10 mph) and a miniscule chance of rain. The good news? Wednesday will be the coolest day for the rest of the week, so seize the day! Go give your favorite tree a pep talk, stay hydrated, shake your rain stick and stay hopeful for better days ahead.

One of my favorite organizations, Mutual Aid Disaster Relief, serves as a hub of mutual aid efforts focused on climate action in emergencies — like Hurricane season. Find mutual aid network near you and join, or donate to support networks in Florida:
