Decreasing chance of rain
The weather, currently.
Damaging hail surprised a big part of the Austin metro area last night, with a cold front roiling the atmosphere and popping up some big thunderstorms with up to baseball-sized hailstones. The chance of severe weather decreases on Monday, with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Cloud cover gradually changes to sun, with a high near 95. Monday night sees a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and a low around 73. Skies will gradually clear, offering slightly cooler days with highs in the low to mid 90s for the rest of the week.

What you need to know, currently.
Fall is here, and so far the trees are not disappointing this year.
My new favorite fall leaf-peeping guide is Explore Fall, which daily auto-generates a 7-day forecasted fall-colors map on almost a neighborhood scale based on weather, soil moisture, sunlight, and citizen science observations for the entire lower 48 states (sorry, no Canada yet).
Here in Minnesota, I tested out the algorithm on a few hikes this weekend and the leaves were stellar. It’s that time of year where the leaves seem to change almost hour-by-hour, so if you have a chance to get out there, don’t miss it.

Minnesota’s last day of summer. It appears Lutsen is ahead of the curve as of yesterday. @ian_leonard@StormHour@FOX9
