Currently in Austin — October 31, 2023: A chilling Halloween night
Plus, a frigid Halloween night nationwide.
The weather, currently.
A chilling Halloween night
Grab an extra layer for your costume, because Mother Nature is conjuring up a delightful but chilly Halloween! Tuesday will enchant with mostly sunny skies as the high temperature creeps up to 56 degrees, but a brisk north wind with gusts up to 20 mph may give you goosebumps. After the sun sets at 6:44pm, temperatures begin a descent to a bone-chilling overnight low near 36. A gentle north wind will whisper through the night under the moonlit sky, providing the perfect backdrop for casting spells around a bubbling cauldron, cuddling under a warm blanket, or eating leftover candy in sweatpants.

What you need to know, currently.
Temperatures 10 to 25°F colder than normal will shroud most of the United States on Halloween, bringing a chill to any planned spooky festivities.
Freeze warnings stretch from southern California to Louisiana to eastern Pennsylvania, and some places like western North Dakota may even dip below zero Fahrenheit on Tuesday morning.
It may be a good idea to figure out how to incorporate a jacket into that costume tomorrow night across much of the lower 48. "Mr. Freeze" is a good costume, but only if it's intended. #Halloween

If you have a Halloween costume that’s winter-adaptable, I’d recommend it. Like maybe “Lavender Haze” Taylor instead of “Shake it Off” Taylor??
