Currently in Austin — October 12, 2023: Warming up again
Plus, our new global warming reality, in one terrifying graph.
The weather, currently.
Warming up again
Thursday sees the sun start to peek out again, and with that a brief return to temperatures higher than what we’ve enjoyed lately. Look for partly cloudy skies that gradually clear after mid morning, with a high near 88. Thursday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Both the day and evening bring 10-15 mph winds from the south, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Friday temperatures make one last burst into the 90s before a cold front sets the stage for a great ACL Weekend Two.

What you need to know, currently.
A new comprehensive summary of September’s shocking global temperature record was published on Wednesday. It’s worth a read in its entirety — it give an overview of exactly what happened, why, and what we can expect over the coming year or so as a result.
I’ll leave it at that. This graph says it all.
We are in a climate emergency.
What you can do, currently.
