Currently in Austin — November 14, 2023: A lovely day
Plus, last call for the Currently Weather Service pre-launch survey.
The weather, currently.
Mostly sunny, lovely day
Tuesday kicks off a string of days featuring gorgeous mild weather, the kind that make us temporarily forget about Texas’ extreme weather events. The day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 68 and light winds (5 to 10 mph) from the north. Tuesday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 51.
If you find this forecast boring, you may be interested in a free Travis Audubon speaker event on Nov. 16: “How Climate Change Is Affecting Extremes”. The talk will describe how scientists determine what role, if any, climate change has played in particular extreme weather events and will look toward the future of extreme weather in Texas. For now, enjoy Tuesday!

What you need to know, currently.
In order for the new Currently Weather Service to live up to our hype, I want to ask for everyone’s pre-launch thoughts one last time.
This survey will be part of the baseline data we’ll use to build the weather service around the community’s needs and make sure it’s something people love to use. Completing the quick survey will also put you first in line to try out the new weather service yourself.
Could you take this two-minute survey right now to help us understand what your dream weather service might be like? Thank you so much to each of you who have already responded.
The launch version of the weather service dropping later this week is just the beginning. We want to continually improve this service in direct response to what people actually need and how people are using it. And, as you’ll quickly see, the suggestions folks have already made are fantastic. Keep ‘em comin’.
